One of the most common questions we get from new puppy families is "what do I need to buy for my new puppy?". So we decided to put together a list of some of our favorite products that you can easily refer back to anytime, and we will continue to update this as we discover new useful and fun products for your pets!
A few of the must-haves are:
Grooming, Toys, Chews, etc.
With lots of experience raising puppies, we have found some favorite products over the years that are helpful when brining home a new puppy. We compiled an "amazon favorites" list to browse. There are details on why we love the products below, or you can go straight to the lists here: https://www.amazon.com/shop/wildwestminiaussies
"Fluffer Comb" The best and only grooming brush you will ever need!
Microfiber Door Mat - We love these for the door entries, under their litterbox, under their food & water bowls, etc. These are super absorbent, quick drying, and machine washable – all things needed for a puppy!
Water Fountain - 168oz. This filters their water and keeps it flowing and fresh for your dogs – ours love this!
goDog Dog Toys (recommended by a puppy family & the closest thing to indestructible we have found!)
Our favorite collar (break-aways are safest!), and harness (best for leash training and walks/jogs) (usually a size small for puppies and medium for adults works best)
PLEASE NEVER GIVE YOUR DOG RAWHIDE CHEWS/TOYS/TREATS!
Wet-a-way: This is such a neat product. We use it not only when we have puppies and are potty training, but anytime we need to clean up a liquid spill. This is a powder that you sprinkle on liquid spills, wait 45-60 seconds, and the liquid is absorbed into the powder and can be swept up with a broom or vacuumed. Think puppy accident, spilled drink, vomit, someone kicked ice cubes under the fridge instead of picking them up..... you know who you are. This is a must have in our house, and especially during "potty training season".
- Waterless Shampoo: Despite what most people think when bringing home a new puppy, they should not be bathed every few days or even weekly. By removing their natural oils often, it dries out their skin and coat and can cause irritation like itchiness, redness, and flaky skin. However, we all know pets (especially puppies) like to get dirty and stinky whenever possible. The waterless shampoo is a great alternative to frequent bathing in order to keep your pet fresh and clean (and sanitized), without drying out their skin and coat.
*I usually place a bulk order of NéVetica™ products when we have puppies going home so that you can get products at a discounted price. If you would like to order any of the products, let me know and I can add them to the bulk order!
